The 27-year-old, recognized as “Afeng”, was standing on the ground floor of an under-construction building when a lightning conductor came wrecking down from above. Afeng recalled that he was preparing to get in a lift at the worksite in Guangzhou, capital of South China’s Guangdong Province, when the object immediately impaled his right shoulder.
The thin rod impaled through the entire length of his body before exiting his left hip, leaving him in pain and shock – but still conscious. His frightened colleagues kept him stable while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
