TEENAGER PULLED A CENTIPEDE IN HIS EAR

Im'nervous. Seriously, name something bad that could possibly happen to a human being, and I've probably worried about it. I've never once worried about a ginormous centipede living in my ear. After this story, it's pretty much all I'll be able to think about. This week, Arkansas teenager Grant Botti woke up to a severe pain coming from his ear. Was it an ear infection? An allergic reaction? A curse placed upon young Grant by a wicked witch with whom he had crossed paths?

In order, no, no, and maybe. Because what happened next involved Grant reaching into his ear and pulling out a four-inch-long centipede that had taken up residence there. Grant pulled out the centipede without killing it, and brought it to the hospital, where they were understandably like, Seven years of school and not once was there a 'what to do when a teen brings bug ears to the hospital' chapter!"

After they got over that, they examined the teen's ear to find that it was mostly fine with just minor abrasions. For his part Grant has no idea how the bug got into his ear, but the current working theory is that it crawled in there while he was swimming in a lake. So Jaws ruined swimming in the ocean and Grant Botti's bug ruined swimming in lakes. The real takeaway is that only swimming pools are safe.
